Cheater's Always Lose

Weigh in was Friday - lost 4.5 pounds.  Total weight loss 9.5 pounds.  I'm NOT close to my goal weight at all yet, but wow it's amazing how my two sizes too small clothes that I have been wearing fit just a little bit better now.

Anyway, I am going to tell on my brother-he cheats on his diet!!!!  Yes, I have caught him eating cake, icecream, and things like that many times!  However, somehow he still loses more weight than me.  NOT FAIR!!!!

Well, my daughter came to the conclusion that the saying, "Cheaters always lose" is definitely true.  At least it is in the case of my brother.  I just don't understand it!

Fat People Have More Fun

Yes, I'm no fun anymore.  I've started my first ever official diet.  Yes, it's been a hard first few days getting my flesh in subjection, but as all things once your mind is made up you can do it!  My mind is made up, and I'm doing it.  This is day four of my diet (Ideal Protein Diet).  I have heard so many wonderful success stories from my friends and family up north that I just had to do.  Can't wait to be my skinny self once again.  I weigh in Friday.  I'll let you know my results.

Anyway the reason for this post, "Fat People Have More Fun"--My youngest son, Ave, told me he thinks that fat people have more fun because they can eat what they like.  He also told me that life is short, so don't worry about what I eat.  After laughing I told him that if I wanted a longer life that I had to eat better.  Another day, he snuggled up to me and gave me a hug, and I said, "Enjoy snuggling with a fat mom, because pretty soon you are going to to have to snuggle with a skinny mom."  His response was, "Awww, that's no fun!"

Check the diet out if you are interested...http://www.idealprotein.com/.

Thought This Was Funny!

An interesting way to discard your clothing. Ave sheds his clothing this way. He always has either a pair of pajama pants underneath if it's winter or a pair of shorts if it's summer. So, where ever he is when he wants to get comfortable he can--hotel lobby (ask Betsy about this), car, cousin's house--you name it. Anyway, we thought it was funny. He was tired from school and just wanted to crawl in bed and listen to an audio story. Hence the pants and shoes on the floor. It still looks like he is in these pants.

Why I Do Not Have Many Pictures of My Oldest Son

Me: "Hey Gene, would you mind letting me take a few pictures of you?"
Into the kitchen he goes to get some drink.
Me: "Okay then if you won't pose, I'll just have to take them just like you are."
Me: "You better pose, I'm going to put them on my blog."

Anyway, here are a few pictures from that photo session of Gene......
Gene drinking water. Another angle of Gene drinking water....

Gene chewing a bite of food. Another attempt at our photo session, right before he is leaving for church.... (By the way I'm glad that I captured this look because I get this look from him quite often...)
Anyway, if one day Gene's kids accuse me of not having many pictures of him...please tell them why for me.

This Calvin & Hobbes Made be Think of Ave

This Calvin & Hobbes made me think of Ave. All those who have ever tried to feed Ave will know what I mean. I really think the kid lives on air and sugar--when he can get some, and trust me he is this dramatic when you try to get him to eat something he doesn't want (which is almost everything). One time he desperately drank an entire cup of water for every little tortellini I made him eat. You would have thought I was feeding him poison. Click on the picture to view it better.

Halo Party?

I'm not sure if any of you mom's of adult young men are familiar with the x-box game "Halo," but it seems to be quite addicting to my son's friends. The yell, for "Halo Parties" is heard quite frequently around here. Anyway, we are always playfully discussing the stupidity of sitting around playing "Halo" all weekend. The famous, try and push Sis. Meboo's button, comment is, "Hey everyone, Halo party at Sis. Meboo's this weekend--bring the Root-beer!" While the rest of the guys all yell, "Halo, Halo, yeah, yeah, Halo Party - Sis. Meboo's- Yeahhhhhh!"

Well, a few weeks ago I came home to this note on my kitchen bar:
DO THEY REALLY EXPECT ME TO BELIEVE PASTOR OTTO WROTE THIS NOTE?

Anyway, it made me laugh! Thanks to the Tom Cat!

1st Day Back to School!

Today was Ave's first day back to school. This year my sweet big sis is going to be tutoring Ave. I'm so excited. She is such a sweet and patient teacher.

Anyway, she said that Ave had them laughing today. When asked if he knew his continents, he proclaimed that he did. When asked to name them, he exclaimed loudly, "You expect me to name all 100 of them!"

HAPPY SCHOOL YEAR!

A Damsel In Distress

If anyone happen to notice the fire department, and the ambulance speeding down the road this morning, well they were heading toward our house. We had a damsel in distress this morning. Yes, Kass thought for sure she was going to meet her maker today. She convinced me of it as well, after I saw her deathly white face. She informed me that she was dying and that I needed to call 911 and pray for her. I called 911 and of course Uncle Toe Toe. While waiting for the fire department and ambulance to arrive, she made her death bed confessions to good Ole Uncle Toe, had him pray for her, and then proceeded to throw up everywhere (Uncle Toe declared that he cast the devils out of her! - Just Kidding). The good news is, it ended well, and by the time the three fire men, the paramedic, and his assistant rushed to her aid, the damsel realized that perhaps she might not die after all. However, she did make a wonderful damsel in distress - the Victorian era women would have been so proud of her. The diagnoses was a very bad stomach virus. Don't laugh too hard - last week I heard that some friends of mine rushed their adult son to the emergency room thinking he was having an appendix attack only to discover that he had a stomach virus. Now let us all pray that no one else gets this awful stomach virus.

In her defence - she really is a toughy when it comes to pain, so I'm sure she really did feel bad.

A Little Something Funny.....

On the way home from church last night, my youngest son said, "Hey Mom, I saw $20 laying on Gene's bathroom counter (my oldest son is always leaving his money lying around), so I brought it to church with me tonight and put it in the offering for him. Is that okay?"

Snoopy - He's Just Part of the Family

Just incase anyone hasn't met our family dog yet, here he is. Let me introduce you to him, his name is Snoopy and he is 3 years old.

Some people think he's ugly, some people think he's cute, but no one can resist this lovable little creature. He is so sweet and smart. I don't want to make you jealous, but he does not have accidents in the house, he doesn't jump on people nor the furniture, he doesn't tear up things (well, for the most part anyway), he doesn't chase chickens nor cats (in fact he has quite a few cat friends), and he is very obedient. Most of all he has a great personality!
Here a picture of him resting on the living room floors. Usually he prefers rugs, but it must have been hot outside.
He looks like royalty and a bit snobby in this picture.
Excuse me, what did you say? Did you say that I was cute? I have to agree with you on that.
The guilty dog look. It's very obvious when Snoopy's been bad. He has such a guilty conscience.

Well bye for now! It's been ter-ruf-ruf-ic meeting all you. Ruff Ruff! Smack Smack!

I Think My Door Has A Sign On It

Do you know how in the book, "Lord of the Rings," Gandalph puts a sign on Bilbo's door? Well, I think I have a sign on my door, "Open House, Come One, Come All! Party is Happening Here!"

Tonight, the crowd keeps getting thicker. First a few of Gene's friends, then a few cousins, then later that evening a few more friends. Wow, now it's a full fledged wild party! We even have a live band going. Drums beating, guitar's playing, loud obnoxious singing....you can't get any better than this! This party was not planned, but it sure enough is fun! Come on by if you want to! ....and please don't be offended if you weren't invited.....no one was.....just come on by! These are the best kind of parties ever!

Kass is always willing to bake some chocolate chip cookies, start up a pot of coffee, make some tea.....accompany the band by singing some ridiculous song that she made up. Very entertaining. Sometimes, she even makes everyone a grilled cheese sandwich. Yummy!

Seriously though, I love that my children's friends and cousins feel comfortable and enjoy coming to our house. Please note, they are ALWAYS WELCOMED! And of course, they all know I'll kick'em out when I've had enough. My hubby, always gives them a friendly goodbye with, "Come back again when you don't have so long to stay!" Can't help but love these kids!

I Think Our New Employee is Nuts!

I think our new employee is nuts! For some strange reason, he does these random things while no one is looking. Things such as turn pictures upside down on the walls. This is what I found in my kitchen after work today. He must have hit again! Should I fire him?
Actually, I think we'll keep him. He works very hard, we trust him, and he is so much fun to have around. I'm happy God blessed us with him.

Screaming Lessons 101

I'm not a big football fan, but some folks are going ballistic over the fact that the Saints are going to the Super Bowl. GOOOOOO SAAAIIIINNNNTTTSSS!!!! WOOOO WOOOO WOOOO!!! That's my online screaming voice. I've been practicing.

Anyway, I came across this video online and thought it was ridiculously funny! Just in case anyone needs to work on their screaming voice for whatever reason - like maybe to call the kids in for dinner or back up the preacher in church - check out this video!

25 Pounds By June!

I will lose 25 Pounds by June!

I am making this statement publicly on my blog so that I will totally humiliate and embarrass myself if I don't lose it! Weight has never been a problem for me until the past few years. It just started creeping up on me, and now, it must STOP!

STOP GAINING WEIGHT I SAY (to myself of course)!!! WAIT A MINUTE - IS THAT A COOKIE I SPY?..........Hmmmm are these extra 25 pounds I carry around really all that bad....Hmmmm......? They do make me a little more curvy.....and cuddly........(at least I try to convince myself of this) HOWEVER, I DO NOT like having this extra weight on me.

This losing weight will also include some form of exercise on a daily basis! I love the outdoors and being active! For most of my life, I have always been fairly fit and actually would get these huge bursts of energy just begging me to move my body - whether it was by swimming, running, walking, dancing around the house with the kids, or any other type of activity! I just had to move. I want to feel that way again! I love feeling STRONG! I love being STRONG!

Proverbs 31:17 (speaking of the Proverbs woman) states, "She girths herself with strength, and makes her arms strong."

So, I will do my best to try and girth myself with strength, make my arms strong, and lose 25 pounds by June!

PS: In case anyone is wondering who the pictures are of - I have no idea. I found them on the internet and thought they were cute!

Wigs - So Much Fun!

Why are wigs so tempting? Put one in a room and everyone has to try them on just to see what they look like. Check out these wig wearing crazies! One ugly red wig and many different looks!

Even computer geeks can't resist!

Nahhh - Zack - don't think so!
Electric Man!
Cutie Pie!
How do I look? Hee Hee?
No thanks!
Surprise Mom! Do you recognize me?
How about a wig wearing grandma, grandpa and grandson! Doesn't grandma look a little like Velma from Scoopy Doo!
