Yes, it has been a really long time since I have last posted. A lot has happened! We have faced and fought battles, and have obtained wonderful victories! Since I last posted, I spent time in Maryland during which time we had the opportunity to build a snowman, see the beautiful cherry trees at peak blossom, and swim in a creek (yes, all within a month). We also went on vacation, went to camp meeting, a wedding, and made new friends. I will try to post a bit about these events later.
---------Meanwhile, just a few funny sayings from a few adorable kids in my life....
-At camp meeting (while staying at a hotel) - Elias (3 years old), Manny (3 years old), and Cobran (4 years old) all informed me that they lived in a hotel, now. First in the hotel breakfast area, Cobran told me, "Hey Sister Melba, we live in a hotel now. Do you live near us?" I said, "Yes, right down the hall." Next, at church I ran into Elias. He said, "Aunt Melba, we live in a hotel now." I suppose they were correct except we only lived there for about three days.
Last night at church, Elias (3 years old) laid his Bible on the pew, opened it up and pretended to read it. He then looked up at me, smiled, and said quite boastfully, "I read my Bible everyday." while he proceeded to read the Bible upside down. Hmmmm! I don't know, maybe he can read it upside down.
-----------Next, something to consider.....
I love people. I really enjoy hanging out with and making new friends. However, in the process, I never want to forget about those special people in my life who have made sacrifices for me, and who have always been there for me, and will always be there for me.
It's important. Take a moment, and think about those special people in your life, and be sure to make special plans to spend with them. Never take them for grant it. Don't wait, and wish you would have later.

Last year, Kass decorated my mantel for me. I really liked it....LOVED it! She took some of my old Valentine's Day Cards (Yes, I was a pack rat when I was little and saved my Valentine's Day Cards from elementary), and made a shadow bow with them.
This was a Valentine's Day card that I made for Keith when I was about 15 years old. She put it on the mantel as well.
Notice the bowler hat and the vintage lady's hat.
Some old bottles...a pom pom rose....
....and a cute little banner of pillow hearts that she made.
This year she is doing something different. I will post when she is finished.
Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!
